A metà settembre per la 29ª edizione di “Elba Isola Musicale d’Europa” che si terrà dal 29 agosto al 13 settembre: sarà come sempre un’edizione di respiro internazionale, ricca, sfaccettata nelle sue proposte e articolata in vari luoghi dell’Isola. Il programma sarà scandito da importanti anniversari: 150 anni dalla nascita di Maurice Ravel, 50 anni dalla morte di Dmitri Šostakovič, 210 anni dalla partenza di Napoleone dall’Elba e 80 anni dalla fine della Seconda guerra mondiale. E poi un compleanno speciale: i 90 anni di Arvo Pärt, il compositore vivente più eseguito al mondo. Dunque, molta musica classica ma anche jazz, con particolare attenzione al pubblico giovane. I giovani saranno protagonisti con l’Elba Festival String Orchestra: una ventina di musicisti da tutto il mondo. La sede principale sarà a Portoferraio, con concerti anche alla Fortezza Pisana di Marciana (10 settembre), alla Villa Romana delle Grotte (8 settembre), alla Chiesa di San Francesco d’Assisi a Marciana Marina (12 settembre), e, novità assoluta, al Giardino della Capitaneria di Portoferraio. “È un grande piacere ospitare giovani talenti e artisti di rilievo internazionale”, conclude George Edelman, Direttore Artistico del Festival. The 29th edition of “Elba Isola Musicale d’Europa” will take place from August 29 to September 13. It will, as always, be an internationally renowned and varied festival taking place in several beautiful venues on the Island of Elba. The 2025 edition will be marked by several significant anniversaries: 150 years since Maurice Ravel’s birth, 50 years since the death of Dmitri Shostakovich, 210 years since Napoleon’s departure from Elba, and 80 years since the end of World War II. The Festival also celebrates the 90th birthday of Arvo Pärt, the most performed living composer. So, plenty of classical music, and jazz too, with a focus on the younger generation. Twenty young musicians from all over the world will form the Elba Festival String Orchestra. Concerts will be held in Portoferraio, at the Roman Villa Le Grotte (September 8), at the Pisan Fortress in Marciana (September 10), and the Church of St Francis in Marciana Marina (September 12), with a special new venue: the Garden of the Harbour Office in Portoferraio. Vom 29. August bis zum 13. September 2025 verwandelt sich die Insel Elba erneut in eine Bühne der internationalen Musikszene: Die 29. Ausgabe des Festivals „Elba Isola Musicale d’Europa“ verspricht auch in diesem Jahr außergewöhnliche Konzerterlebnisse an verschiedenen, stimmungsvollen Orten der Insel. Das künstlerische Programm steht im Zeichen bedeutender Jahrestage: 150 Jahre Maurice Ravel, 50 Jahre posthum Dmitri Schostakowitsch, 210 Jahre seit Napoleons Abschied von Elba und 80 Jahre seit dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs. Zugleich feiert das Festival einen herausragenden lebenden Komponisten: Arvo Pärt, der in diesem Jahr seinen 90. Geburtstag begeht – und weltweit zu den meistgespielten zeitgenössischen Komponisten zählt. Wie immer ist die klassische Musik das Herzstück des Festivals – doch auch Jazz hat seinen festen Platz im Programm, begleitet von einem besonderen Augenmerk auf das junge Publikum. „Rund zwanzig Nachwuchsmusikerinnen und -musiker aus verschiedenen Ländern werden Teil des Festivalorchesters sein.
